Which Magic Hour tool should I use?

Quick guide to choosing your tool

Written by Runbo (CEO of Magic Hour)

Magic Hour includes several different tools for images, video, audio, editing, and transformation. If you are not sure where to start, this guide will help you choose the right tool based on what you already have and what you want to make.

Start with Your Goal

  • If you want to make a brand-new video from a written idea, use Text to Video.

  • If you already have a photo and want to animate it, use Image to Video.

  • If you already have a video and want to change its visual style or apply an artistic effect, use Video to Video.

  • If you want a still portrait image to speak, use Talking Photo.

  • If you have a video of a person and want to sync their lips to new audio, use Lip Sync.

  • If you want to place a new face into an existing video, use Face Swap Video.

  • If you want to change part of an image — such as clothing, background, text, lighting, or facial details — use AI Image Editor.

  • If you want to improve or enlarge an image, use the AI Image Upscaler. If you want to improve video quality, use the AI Video Upscaler.

Quick Matching Guide

Use Text to Video when:

  • You only have an idea or prompt

  • You want Magic Hour to generate a new video from scratch

  • You do not already have source media

Use Image to Video when:

  • You already have a photo

  • You want subtle movement, motion, or animation

  • You want to turn a static image into a short video

Use Video to Video when:

  • You already have a video

  • You want to transform its visual style (e.g., anime, cinematic, oil painting)

  • You want to apply an artistic effect or restyle the footage without changing the motion

Use Face Swap Video when:

  • You already have a video

  • You want to replace the face in that video

  • The subject's face is visible and clear

Use Lip Sync when:

  • You have a video of a person's face and want the mouth movements to match new audio

  • You want spoken words to align with a different audio track

  • You have clear audio and a clearly visible, front-facing face in the video

Use Talking Photo when:

  • You want a still portrait or character image to speak

  • You want an animated talking head effect from a single image

  • You do not have a video — just a photo

Use AI Image Editor when:

  • You want to change an existing image instead of generating a new one

  • You want to remove, replace, or restyle elements in an image

  • You want to update clothing, backgrounds, objects, or text
