Change a video’s objects, scene, or style with a written editing instruction.
Get the right result: check these first
Existing video plus an edit. Upload the clip and enter the requested change in Edit instructions. Use Text-to-Video if you are starting from a description without source footage.
Length or resolution rejected. Trim to the range displayed for the selected model and select one of that model’s supported resolutions. Changing the prompt does not override either restriction.
Only need a specialist edit. Use Face Swap Video for facial identity or Subtitle Generator for captions. Keep the source and result if unrelated details change.
Still stuck? Contact support with the tool name, project link or visible ID if available, model, video trim, edit prompt, references, resolution, and timestamp of the unintended edit. Keep the project while it is reviewed. How to send useful troubleshooting details.
Step by step
Open AI Video Editor and sign in. Add the source video.
Choose the video section when trim controls are available.
In Edit instructions, describe the change and what should remain. Example: “Change the car from red to blue; keep the road, camera movement, and other cars unchanged.”
Choose a model and available resolution. Resolve any clip-length or reference-input message.
Review the estimate and select Generate Video. Watch the whole completed clip and download the result.
Keep the edit specific
Start with one clear transformation. Combining several object replacements, new camera moves, and scene changes in one request can make the result harder to control.
The edit changes between frames
Review turns, occlusions, and scene transitions. Simplify the request or try a shorter supported selection. The tool does not guarantee pixel-perfect preservation or exact tracking in every frame.
Use a more specialized tool when it fits
Use Face Swap Video for facial identity, Character Replace for a whole character, Video Extender for additional time, and Subtitle Generator for styled captions.
Cost, limits, and your result
These instructions cover the Dashboard. Sign in to generate and check the displayed credit estimate and access requirements. File limits and settings can depend on the tool, model, and plan. Follow the upload and validation messages shown for your selection.
Review the completed result before downloading. For signed-in projects, see find and download your creations.
If a job is still processing or failed
For a job still processing, check its status before submitting again. For a failed or technically broken output, see generation failures and credits.
