Replace the person or character in a video using a replacement-character image.
Get the right result: check these first
Select the intended person. After uploading the video, choose Select person. Move the filmstrip to a frame showing the person, click or tap them, then choose Select This Person. Auto leaves subject selection to the tool.
You changed the trim. Selection points outside the trimmed segment are excluded. If the editor reports that all points are outside the range, reselect the person within the new trim or adjust the trim.
Choose the scope of replacement. Use the replacement character image here for a whole-character change. Use Face Swap Video when the intended change is only facial identity.

Step by step
Open Character Replace and sign in.
Under Video to edit, add the source video and choose the clip section if trim controls appear.
Under Character to use, add the replacement image or select a preset.
To target a particular person, choose Select person, move to a frame where they are visible, click or tap them, and select Select This Person. Recheck the points if you change the video trim.
Confirm the whole-character workflow, choose an available resolution, and review the estimate.
Generate the video. Review the replacement throughout the clip, especially turns, hands, and occlusions, before downloading.
Character Replace versus Face Swap Video
Use Character Replace when the character’s wider appearance should change. Use Face Swap Video when only the facial identity should change. The Face only and Whole character controls help you choose the intended workflow.
Improve a difficult replacement
Use a source where the intended person is easy to distinguish and a replacement image that clearly shows the character. Fast motion, obstruction, and several overlapping people can make a result harder to control.
What is not guaranteed
A reference does not guarantee exact body shape, clothing detail, or identity in every frame. Check the entire completed clip; one good frame does not establish that the rest is correct.
