Subtitle Generator: step-by-step guide

Generate styled subtitles for speech in a video.

Generate styled subtitles for speech in a video.

Get the right result: check these first

  • Start with speech in a video. Upload the clip and check that the selected section contains the speech to caption. A caption style does not supply a missing recording.

  • Change appearance with the template. Choose a caption template and use Customize Template for the available visual settings.

  • Need translated speech instead. Use AI Video Translator for video dubbing. Choosing a subtitle template is not the same operation.

Step by step

  1. Open Subtitle Generator and sign in.

  2. Under Upload Your Video, add the Original Video and choose the section if trim controls appear.

  3. Choose a caption template such as karaoke, cinematic, minimalist, or highlight.

  4. Use Customize Template to adjust the available visual settings.

  5. Review the estimate and select Generate Video. Watch and read the subtitles in the completed video before downloading.

Check wording and timing

Names, numbers, accents, overlapping speakers, and music can cause transcription errors. Review the full result before sharing it. Record the timestamp and correct wording if you need to report an error.

Captions versus translation

This workflow adds captions to a video. Use AI Video Translator when the goal is a translated spoken video. Do not assume choosing a caption style translates the speech.

No subtitles or hard-to-read captions

Confirm the selected section contains audible speech. Choose a style with sufficient contrast and inspect text placement over the actual footage. The completed result’s download options determine which exports are available.
