Increase an image’s size and refine detail with Preserve, Balanced, or Creative mode.
Get the right result: check these first
Pick a mode intentionally. Preserve is the conservative mode; Balanced and Creative allow more enhancement. Creative also exposes an optional prompt.
4× is rejected. When the editor says the image is too large for 4×, choose 2×. If the input itself is rejected as too large, resize the source to fit the displayed input limit first.
Bigger frame versus more pixels. Use AI Image Expander to generate surroundings beyond the edges. Upscaling enlarges the existing composition.

Step by step
Open AI Image Upscaler and upload the image.
Choose Preserve to prioritize resemblance, Balanced for more enhancement, or Creative for a more interpretive result.
Select 2x or 4x under Scale Factor. Check any input-size or output-size message.
In Creative mode, use the optional prompt if you want to guide the result.
Review the estimate and select Upscale Image. Compare the completed output with the original at full size, then download.
Which mode should I use?
Start with Preserve for faces, products, or images where original detail matters. Creative mode can invent texture and change appearance. Try Balanced when Preserve is too restrained.
The output is not the size I expected
Large images can hit safety limits and require a smaller input or a lower scale. Inspect the available scale and resulting dimensions rather than assuming every source can become four times wider and taller.
Faces or letters changed
Choose a more conservative mode and compare the result closely. For broader photo, face, or skin enhancement, use Image Enhancer. For moving footage, use AI Video Upscaler.
