Each Magic Hour tool has specific limits based on your subscription plan. Limitations include maximum output resolution, video length or frame count, and the credit cost per generation. Always check the credit estimate shown in the Magic Hour UI before generating — it shows the exact cost for your specific settings (model, resolution, duration, audio, etc.).

Understanding Credit Costs
Cost Multipliers
Video tools with higher processing complexity use a higher cost multiplier. For Text-to-Video and Image-to-Video, the multiplier also depends on the AI model and resolution selected — some premium models at high resolution with audio can reach 6× or more per frame.

Plan-Based Resolution Limits
Your subscription plan determines the maximum output resolution available for each tool:

If you attempt to generate at a resolution not available on your plan, the tool will either downscale the output or prompt you to upgrade.
Frame and Duration Limits Explained
How Frames and Duration Relate
Video tools work with frames. Duration depends on the frame rate (FPS) of the specific model:
Formula: Duration (seconds) = Frames ÷ Frame Rate (FPS)
Frame rates vary by model (typically 16, 24, or 30 fps). Examples:
Face Swap with max 100,000 frames at 30 fps → ~3,333 seconds (~55 minutes)
Lip Sync with max 120,000 frames at 24 fps → ~83 minutes
Text-to-Video with max 2,000 frames at 30 fps → ~67 seconds
Animation with max 10,000 frames → up to ~333–417 seconds depending on model FPS

Credit Balance and Insufficient Credits
If you attempt to generate content but don't have enough credits, the generation will not start and you will not be charged. Check your credit balance before generating, especially for longer or higher-resolution video tools.
Your credit balance is visible in the top-right corner of the dashboard. If you run out of credits:
Purchase additional credits with a Credit Pack
Upgrade to a subscription plan that includes more credits
Reduce your generation settings to lower the credit cost
Credits never expire. Unused credits from subscriptions and credit packs carry over indefinitely — they do not reset between billing cycles.
Exceeding Limitations
What Happens If You Exceed Limits

To access higher resolutions, longer durations, or larger file uploads, upgrade your plan at magichour.ai/pricing. New limits take effect immediately.
