AI UGC Ads: upload a custom actor, generate variations, and fix upload issues

How to upload an actor and product image, choose a variation, and troubleshoot the current AI UGC Ads workflow.

Written by Runbo (CEO of Magic Hour)

Access

Use /create/ai-ugc-ad-generator. AI UGC Ads requires Creator, Pro, or Business and uses credits.

Start with an actor

Choose a preset actor or select Upload Actor. You can also select Upload Product for an optional product image. More than 100 preset actors are available in the current editor.

Supported images

Uploads support PNG, JPG, JPEG, JFIF, HEIC, WEBP, AVIF, JP2, TIFF, TIF, and BMP. HEIC is converted for the tool.

Images cannot exceed 8,000px on either side. Upload thresholds are 200 MB on Basic, 2 GB on Creator, 5 GB on Pro, and 10 GB on Business.

Create an initial image

  1. Upload or choose an actor.

  2. Optionally upload a product.

  3. Describe the location, appearance, and product interaction in the image prompt.

  4. Choose 16:9 or 9:16.

  5. Select Generate Variations.

  6. Choose the image to use.

A status card shows when a variation is processing, complete, or failed. Failed variation jobs display returned credits.

Create the video

  1. Enter the spoken script.

  2. Optionally describe the scene.

  3. Select a duration currently shown. Choices begin at 4, 6, and 8 seconds and continue through longer selections up to 141 seconds.

  4. Review the displayed estimate and generate.

If Upload Actor is missing

The current editor contains an Upload Actor control. A crop-only screen without Upload Actor does not match the current workflow.

  1. Confirm the route is /create/ai-ugc-ad-generator.

  2. Refresh the page.

  3. Sign out and back in.

  4. Try a current private browser window.

  5. If still missing, send support a screenshot, browser, account email, and page URL.

Upload errors

  • Invalid image: convert to JPG or PNG.

  • Dimensions too large: resize below 8,000px on each side.

  • File-size message: use a smaller file or follow the plan prompt.

  • Variation remains in progress: refresh and check My Library before retrying.
