Overview

You can change your subscription plan at any time to better match your content creation needs.

Prerequisites

  • An active Magic Hour account

  • At least one paid subscription or upgrade access

Before you begin

When you downgrade, your credits adjust to your new plan's monthly allocation at the end of your billing period. Your unused credits will carry over forever, but you'll lose access to your current subscription's features at the end of your billing period.

Available plans

Here's what each subscription tier includes:

  • Free: 400 credits/month, 512px resolution, watermarked outputs

  • Creator: $10/month (or $120/year) – 120,000 credits/year, 1024px resolution, no watermark, commercial use

  • Pro: $49/month (or $588/year) – 600,000 credits/year, 1472px resolution, 2GB uploads, priority support

  • Business: $249/month (or $2,988/year) – 3,000,000 credits/year, 4K resolution, 3GB uploads, priority support

Upgrade your plan

From Free to a paid plan

  1. Sign in to your Magic Hour account.

  2. Select the plan you want to upgrade to (Creator, Pro, or Business).

  3. Choose your billing frequency: Monthly or Yearly (yearly comes with 2 months free).

  4. Review the plan details and click Subscribe.

  5. Enter or confirm your payment information and complete the purchase.

Expected result: Your subscription updates immediately. Your new credit allowance and features become available right away.

Between paid plans (Creator → Pro → Business)

  1. Sign in and navigate to https://magichour.ai/pricing

  2. Choose your new plan (higher tier).

  3. Review the price in checkout

  4. Click Purchase

Expected result: You'll have the option of upgrading either immediately or upgrading at the end of your current subscription's billing cycle. You won't be charged until the upgrade takes place.

Pro tip: If you're on a monthly plan, consider switching to yearly billing. You'll save 17%, equivalent to 2 months free.

Downgrade your plan

From a paid plan to Free tier

  1. Under Subscription, select Settings->Cancel Subscription to cancel your current plan

  2. Go through the cancellation flow and confirm you'd like to cancel

Expected result: Your downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Unused credits will carry over when you downgrade.

Verify the change

Check your plan change was successful:

  • Visit your My Plan page and confirm your new plan is reflected.

  • Confirm your new billing info in the Subscription section.

  • Look for a confirmation email from Magic Hour detailing your plan change.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I upgrade mid-cycle?

If you choose to upgrade immediately, your billing cycle will reset and you will start your new plan immediately. If you choose to upgrade at the end of your current billing cycle, nothing will happen immediately.

Can I switch between monthly and yearly billing?

Yes. You can change your billing frequency from monthly to yearly (or vice versa) when you manage your subscription. Switching to yearly offers a discount.

What if I downgrade and then want to upgrade again?

You can upgrade or downgrade as many times as you need. Each change takes effect according to your billing cycle, and you may be charged or credited for prorated amounts.

Do my credits reset when I change plans?

Yes. Your credit balance resets to your new plan's monthly allowance at your next billing date. Any unused credits from your previous plan however will carry over forever.
